Essential Functions and Responsibilities

The Training and Development Specialist works with the Training and Employee Development Department to identify, create, and conduct training and development programs to support Cascade Management Inc. initiatives. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Support the development of CMI training programs for multiple levels of internal and external employees through direction from the Training and Employee Development Manager. * 

 

Responsible for assisting the Training and Employee Development Manager in obtaining and documenting operational procedural information to create training materials. * 

 

Organize and assist with development of training procedure manuals, guides, and course materials, such as handouts and/or visual materials. * 

 

Evaluate and edit training content pertinent to the operational procedures and policies of CMI. * 

 

Facilitate training using a variety of instructional techniques and formats, such as role-playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, and lectures, as designed by Training and Employee Development Department. * 

 

Brainstorm and develop alternative training methods to support employees’ continued development in partnership with their supervisor (Portfolio Manager) and Training and Employee Development Manager. * 

 

Maintain and monitor database of course offerings, training records, and our learning management system (LMS) and answer related help desk inquiries. * 

 

Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; Bachelor or Associate degree in Education, Communications, English, or similar preferred; 1+ years of experience with public speaking or facilitating trainings preferred; 1+ years of Property Management experience preferred (example: Community Manager, Property Manager, onsite office staff positions, etc.); or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

 

Travel Requirements

Traveling (up to 30% of your time) may be required in this position. To be determined by Training and Development Manager and Human Resource Department as needed. 

 

Language Skills

Ability to read, interpret, and summarize documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to read, interpret, review, edit, and draft training documents. Ability to write reports and engage in professional correspondence in-person and via email. Written and spoken bilingual fluency (English/Spanish) preferred. 

 

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. 

 

Reasoning Ability

Ability to ask clarifying questions, utilize available resources to problem solve, and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  

 

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

Valid Driver’s License is required. 

 

Other Qualifications

Ability to operate basic office equipment such as telephones, keyboards, 10 key, photocopier, and fax machine. MS Office Suite experience is required. Ability to initiate and navigate virtual meeting spaces (i.e. Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc.).
