Essential Functions and Responsibilities

The Maintenance Technician I will assist the maintenance team with keeping the buildings and grounds in a clean,
orderly, and safe condition. The position will help with verifying that the buildings are in good repair by performing the
following duties: minor plumbing, janitorial, and other related maintenance activities when required. All repairs are to be
completed in a timely and appropriate manner.


Essential Duties:
1. Help the maintenance team in keeping the building in good repair by performing minor plumbing, janitorial, and
other related maintenance activities when required. *


2. Ensure that all repairs are completed in a timely and appropriate manner. *


3. Pick up trash on grounds. Keep breezeways, sidewalks, and grounds clear of clutter and debris. Ability to rake
and shovel as needed. *


4. Assist in cleaning and turnover of vacant apartments to include all actions necessary to make the apartment
rent-ready for the next tenant. *


5. Help in conducting move-out inspections and reporting, including checking smoke detectors on a regular basis
to ensure proper operation, perform other inspections when directed or needed. *


6. Assist in the completion of maintenance requests, work orders, and update Property Maintenance Log daily. *


7. Help in performing regular preventative maintenance inspections of all units. *


8. Notify the Community Manager of safety-related issues and lease agreement violations. *


9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Physical Demands

Education and/or Education
1-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations

Valid Driver’s License and insurance is required. 

 

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure
manuals. Ability to draft routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or
employees of organization.

 

Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and
decimals.


Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited

standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions given in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Tool Requirement
Cascade requires that in this Maintenance position, the employees supply their own tools to perform maintenance work
at worksites. A list of required tools to perform the basic maintenance functions of the job description must be able to be
obtain within 60 days of employment.
