Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Reporting to the chief executive officer (CEO), the Corporate Controller will be responsible for oversight of all finance,
accounting, and reporting activities for the organization. As a member of the Executive Team, the Corporate Controller will
be involved in supporting presentations of the corporate financials and corporate budget to the Executive Team. The
Corporate Controller will further oversee the Accounting Manager and provide executive leadership to the accounting
department.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

1. Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate industry standards
and regulatory requirements.

 

2. Maintain internal control and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs, and program budgets and actual
expenditures.

 

3. Coordinate with Accounting Manager for all client audit activity. Coordinate all audit activity for corporate entity.

 

4. Consistently analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly
communicate monthly, and annual financial statements; monitor progress and changes and keep senior
leadership abreast of Cascade Management’s financial status.

 

5. Assist the executive team in the annual budgeting and planning process; administer and review all financial plans
and compare to actual results with a view to identify, explain, and correct variances as appropriate.

 

6. Oversee all financial, project/program and grants accounting; ensure that expenditures are consistently aligned
with grant and program budgets throughout the grant/fund period; collate financial reporting materials for
government, corporate, and foundation grants.

7. Manage organizational cash flow forecasting by working in partnership key stakeholders.

 

8. Manage and track the performance of invested assets in keeping with policies and investment guidelines.

 

9. Respond to owners, investors, and agency inquiries and requests.

 

10. Make recommendations to management for improvement of company policies, procedures, and practices.

 

11. Leverage strengths of the current accounting team members, help to clarify roles and responsibilities and develop
and implement training programs to maximize and reach optimal individual and organizational goals.

 

12. Provide leadership in strengthening internal communications with staff at all levels throughout the organization;
create and promote a positive and supportive work environment.

 

13. Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.

 

14. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Physical Demands

Education and/or Education

Bachelor’s Degree (B.A or B.S.) in Accounting or Finance with 5+ years accounting experience and some supervisory
experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Real estate experience a plus. MS Office and 10
key skills.

 

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
Valid Driver’s License and insurance is required.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervise Accounting Manager and potentially some additional accounting staff. Responsible to hire, supervise,
and coach staff and make recommendations for disciplinary action and development. Review and approve bi-weekly
timecards. Responsible for staffing schedules which includes vacation approvals and leaves. Carry out supervisory
responsibilities in accordance with CMI policies, procedures, and applicable laws.

 

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure
manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or
employees of organization.

 

Mathematical Skills 

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and
decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability
to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Excellent analytical skills and
detail oriented.

 

Other Qualifications

Ability to work independently, prioritize work, and manage deadlines. Ability to manage multiple projects. Strong
proficiency in general accounting, budgeting, and internal controls. Ability to operate basic office equipment such as
telephones, keyboards, 10 key, photocopier, and fax machine. Must be proficient in MS Office. Sage 100 and Boston
post knowledge a plus.
